Ethan French
“Ethan’s ear for what makes a catchy pop song has held him in excellent stead when writing ‘You’re My Home’, and I’ve got it on repeat.” - Ben Madden
Jack (and master) of all trades Ethan French has many years of experience in performance and songwriting despite being just a teenager. Ethan has profound patience and intellectual endeavour; not satisfied with being 'just a pianist' he became a multi-instrumentalist, teaching himself how to play the guitar, bass, drums and even ukulele.
Currently studying musical composition at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Ethan has received a number of accolades for his songwriting since his high school years. Last year, he released his first EP Someday, a taste of the pop soul this mature teen can deliver. He followed this up with successful singles "Tell Me" and "The More I See," the latter featured on popular YouTube channel nourish..
"Say What You Want" was Ethan's brilliant debut with Source. Highlighting his honey-soaked harmonies and sizzling chords, this single served as an introduction for Ethan to Australia and beyond. Listeners heard the track on triple j and local radio in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney, and with additions to Apple Music's New Music Daily, Always Sunday and Jazz Scene: Australia and New Zealand playlists, the track has been streamed over 30,000 times in Japan, the US, the UK and Australia.
Ethan French continues to embark on a self-guided musical journey with new single "You're My Home." Flexing his hit-making muscles, this is a familiar sound yet rich with originality, found in the layers of vocals & signature soulful chords. Inspired by London idols Ed Sheeran and Jacob Collier, "You're My Home" is a delicately poised love song that will win over any heart. Ethan's use of vocoder & reharmonisation 'hug' the warm, affectionate lyrics; "These are the days we waited for."
