Sometime assassin, sometime saint, Lincoln Mackinnon mixes uplifting choruses, searing emotional power and a barely contained menace to produce music that is as powerful as it is memorable.
Hailing from Melbourne Australia, where Lincoln previously fronted The Legs and Dead River Deeps, Lincoln moved from the big city to work in the remote community of Tennant Creek in the local arts centre. Armed with three years of stories about unruly desert nights and wild camaraderie, he moved to Fremantle to continue the pursuit and formed Lincoln Mackinnon and The Wrecking Train. Rich in stories of love, survival, friendship and loss, this seaside town inspired a spree of songwriting, forming the inspiration for his latest album, “Sparks Will Fly.”
Renowned for his electric live performance and incredible musicianship, Lincoln is a force to be reckoned with. Passion oozing out of masterful guitar licks coupled with his unpredictability on stage, the energy and emotion from his music is amplified on stage.
"Lincoln Mackinnon & The Wrecking Train remind me of the intimate moments where a lover brushes your hair from your face. That’s how their music makes you feel." – Annie Munroe, X-Press Mag
"He’s unpredictable, mesmerising and shakes out his words and guitar licks like he’s been shot through with electricity. Backed by one of the best bands going around, Mackinnon and his unholy henchmen own the stage.” – Andrew Thompson, Around The Sound
