Em Flach celebrates life in the reflective, ambient track "Won't Be Long"
There are many ways to interpret your surroundings and emotions, the inspiration you can draw from the shore or from the stars. In the case of Justin Hunter, it’s waking up every morning to the mist on top of the Blue Mountains. When it’s Justin on the piano, beautiful neo-classical piano instrumentals describe each hill and each rock, but when it’s his moniker Em Flach, intricate downtempo beats are created. Collaborating with some of Australia’s premier musicians (Ta-ku, Jace Excel) and international artists, Em Flach creates a landscape of ambient electronic beats to reflect the landscape outside his window and inside his mind.
Joining forces for “Won’t Be Long” are fellow Blue Mountains’ pioneers Finbar and Kearna (Peaks). Inevitably, death is a burden all of us have to bear eventually, often all too quickly to process. In this reflective track, Kearna sings about the promise of reconnecting with passed loved ones after our own time. Justin explains this personal belief, seeing our friends and family again “in a world that will be very different to what we have now.” Offering hope and comfort in tough times, “Won’t Be Long” gives us the strength to continue on our path.
"Won't Be Long" is available on all streaming services.
